Happy Monday

Do you think it's possible to have a 'couple crush'? If so, I am head over heels for these two.

Autumn in New York.

I cant wait to get back to the City. 1week
I cant wait to see Jeremy. city sites
I cant wait to have thanksgiving. turkey and pumpkin pie
I cant wait for Australia. home

Oh and, I have quickly become obsessed with the model Crystal Renn... I met her (after finding out where she lived in New York, unhealthy I know!) She is more beautiful than in her pictures and the loveliest person Ive met.

I want to weave you into me. Stick your thorns in and grow. Bleed sap and feel this shining light. Grow strange leaves. Bear this fruit. Share this soil. Bury ourselves. Reach for the sun. Strip this bark. Carve a name and a heart into me. Please.

-Vincent Van Gogh

maybe we are all the same

I'm always throwing around the word need. It is a frequent occupant of my greedy lips, and all too unnecessary. I need. Yes, I do say that quite a bit. Usually, it simply means "I want".
Need: the psychological feature that arouses an organism to action toward a desired goal; the reason for the action; that which gives purpose and direction to behaviour;
So what do I really need? What do you need? I'm sure that there are obvious answers. I'm positive that you could make a list.
Most days, what I really need is the same thing that you really need. Funny how that works. We all are longing for the same thing, and yet no one speaks of it.
In the deepest part of us, we desperately want companionship...At the end of the day, I want a friend. Not the kind of friends that will leave me when I let them down...but the kind of friends who never quit...The friends that ride out the storm with you. Friends who stay by your side when you make a fool of yourself. Friends who realize that Love not only is unconditional, but it also "suffers long." Yes, friends who are willing to suffer with you and for you...friends who will push you towards change.
People are tricky. People have been hurt. Most people have lost their ability to trust. Maybe that's why it's so hard. But here is what I know.
Love (which is the core of friendship) is pure and kind. Love is not self seeking. Love overlooks. Love perseveres. Love keeps no record of wrong. That is who I want to be. The dictionary defined Love as a feeling. But I beg to differ with Sir Webster. Love is a choice, it is a challenge, it is a goal. It is my goal.
To love without fear of failing or losing.
To trust without walls.
To stand my ground, even when I want to run.
To fight for my friends, at all costs.
&To walk out this journey surrounded by people who encourage me, and to be the friend that exudes the love that Christ has shown me.

"And I learned what is obvious to a child. That life is simply a collection of little lives, each lived one day at a time. That each day should be spent finding beauty in flowers and poetry and talking to animals. That a day spent with dreaming and sunsets and refreshing breezes cannot be bettered. But most of all, I learned that life is about sitting on benches next to ancient creeks with my hand on her knee and sometimes, on good days, for falling in love." — Nicholas Sparks (from The Notebook)

10 things I learnt this week

1. Homemade bread is so delicious - I think I should try making my own.
2. Window shopping could be used as a form of torture.
3. Some people take themselves way too seriously.

4. I will always end up over eating on holiday.
5. Season 3 of Gossip Girls- my love obsession with Chuck and Blair has been rekindeled.
6. Sometimes a long car ride alone with a favourite CD is all you need to get back on track.
7. I like zip-lock bags.
8. I am still capable of butterflies
9. I still cant decide between Superman and Batman.
10. My 'keep calm and carry on' sticker... has kept me sane the last few weeks.

and never think of it again....
you can look at a picture for a second
and think of it all your life"
Jean Miro

Does your life ever look like this?

Some days are all the better for being PINK!.....

John 2:24-25

24But Jesus would not entrust himself to them, for he knew all men.

25He did not need man's testimony about man, for he knew what was in a man.

Dear Santa,

No presents this year, just this feeling please.

I was thinking about it this morning and I realised that…I think friends are like mascara. There are some that open your eyes. Some that run when you cry. Some that you cant open, no matter how hard to try. Some that clump up but you cant manage to throw them away and they sit in your bottom draw. And no matter what, you always end up back at that trusty brand that your mother told you was reliable from the very beginning. We all need people.. we just need to find the brand that brings out your best features.. xo

Stars and Stripes

So lets back up a little. September 25th-27th, I caught the bus down from New York City to Washington, Dc. I spent two days on a hop on hop off tour that took me to 25 amazing sites of Washington.

White House

Washington Memorial
Lincoln Memorial

Capitol Hill

Washington Washington Washington. I have wanted to go to this city for a long time. I have always been a little more interested in America's history than Australia's... so this city was fun to explore. I went to the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Memorial, The White House and Capitol Hill. There was the most amazing Cathedral on the top of a hill looking over all of Washington. It is where most Presidents and other important government officials have their funerals. It is also where Martin Luther King preached his last sermon and three days later, had his funeral there. I spent a few hours in this church.. it was amazing... transported me straight to Europe.

A very successful weekend!

Hello from South Carolina. Yes people, I am down south where things are a world slower, men call me mamn and everybody says 'yall'.

I spent the first few days here just resting and catching up on much needed sleep. Today Cheryl, Anne and I drove the 3 hours down to Savannah, Georgia. It was a small pretty town with a lot of history and great ice-cream!!

I am loving being with family. There are so many spare beds, but I have choosen to share with Annie and we stay up till veeeery late talking and laughing. We talk about the old times and the times yet to come. We talk about marriage and she calms down all my fears. I have an amazing family who would do anything to make sure I was safe.

So people, as I sit here in my socks and pjs, eating jelly beans and watching Julia Roberts... I will leave you with this... At times like this, we question our own strength. Or ability to hang on and not crumble. Love's an amazing thing. Can't see it. Can't touch it. Can't smell it. Yet, it's there with us from the day we're born. Live well, life is short so make the most of it. Love your family. Love your friends... and make sure they know it!
