Amazing Dresses!

BEST: Anne Hathaway (left) in a stunning Valentino gown and Bulgari diamonds (such a princess gown). Rachel Weisz (right) in an Oscar de la Renta dress with Fred Leighton jewels (gorgeous lady, gorgeous pink dress). And Jlo? She needs no words!!

And two not-so-amazing dresses!
WORST: Leighton Meester (left) in a ill fitting Marc Jacobs dress (why, Leighton, why?). Kristen Stewart (right) in a black Chanel dress with her trademark unimpressed look (not pretty)

Hello Boots, welcome to your new home! I will love you and wear you and if you're good, take you on an all expenses paid trip to Europe!!

Do you like my new boots? I won them on eBay and picked them up this morning. I have been debating buying $400 Nine West boots for about a week now, and really couldn't bring myself to spend that much! Plus, I have always has this fascination with the old and 'preloved'... I like that there is a story to it... (and its usually doesn't cost you $400 to hear that story)

This week is going to be a good one! I have a morning tea planned (cupcakes mandatory), a movie night with Jess, a scrap night .... I must must must finish my America book and bind it already, a Brisbane vintage shopping day and a Barbie and Ken 21st birthday party!
Life is good and sweet! It really is what we choose to make it, so choose wisely!!!

10 things I learnt this week

1. It's important to listen to your body. Eat when you're hungry. Sleep when you're tired.

2. Never grocery shop on a full stomach. You come home with 3 apples, cotton buds and a pasta sauce.

3. It's ok to feel a tad bit jealous when your friend gets engaged, pregnant or that fabulous job. Whats important is that you feel it, deal with it and don't let your friend know.

4. Ones of life most important lessons is to learn how to say "Thankyou", "Congratulations" and "I'm sorry".... and really mean it.

5. Fruit cut up by someone else is always more yummy.

6. I think chipped nail polish looks tacky.

7. Heavy heavy eye makeup looks incredible on very few people.

8. If your friends or family make you feel anything less than happy, supported and special; they are not proper friends or family.

9. It's better to be good at one thing than mediocre at ten things.

10. Find someone you're passionate about and be with that person forever

3 Things I am Thankful For

1. My Boyfriend. He has designed my business cards and has promised to teach me photoshop. I am lucky and so thankful that he is amazingly supportive.

2. Autum. There is a chill in the air and I dont want it to leave. I am so much more comfortable in the cooler seasons...plus, the fashions are much more chic!

{love of the loveliest kind}

Ive been doing a lot of reading on how to build and keep a relationship strong/fun/solid/exciting/honest. There are so many interesting and funny sites where people have shared real advice and I feel as though Ive learnt a lot already. I stumbled across a married man by the name of 'M'..his blog keeps me in stitches as I read through the ups, downs and in-betweens of his 3 year marriage. He writes that there are 5 things that women need to hear to fall and stay in love (when I read the title, I secretly changed the idea that a man has finally figured women out).

1. I think you're beautiful
2. I'm listening
3. It's going to be alright
4. What can I do to help

5. I love you

I swear that my jaw fell to the ground... how spot on is he! Crazy!

So I pose this question to you, my faithful readers, give me your tips on how to keep a relationship strong/fun/solid/exciting/honest!!!!

6. Picnic dates should be a monthly must.
7. A good cup of coffee can save the day.
8. (Apparently) I am a total control freak.

I am now the proud owner of these 2 pairs of uh-mazing shoes.

I can't believe that it's already April... where has this year gone?? This year so far has been so beautiful, I am almost waiting for the other shoe to drop and it to all fall apart...(but that's the pessimistic Britt coming out)

On another note, the boyf and I have been invited to a Barbie and Ken theme party. I personally don't think that any woman over the dress size of 8 wants to dress up and parade herself around this unrealistic perception of what a real woman should look like...Nevertheless, I have decided to think outside the box... and then it hit me....Vintage Barbie....all of a sudden, I am excited about this party (if for nothing more than seeing the Boyf with a comb over)

I welcome your ideas and pictures.

Happy Thursday. xo

lovely lovely

Ok ok, as most of you know I am obsessed with a few things- houses/ decor and reality television shows. If you put the two together what do you get....Tori Spelling's house. Now I understand that she comes off sometimes as an overindulged LA princess but boy is she one heck of a decorator!! I adore this house!

ladies and gentlemen..

Introducing my Boyf. I love love love this picture of him.. I think he is the perfect balance between Superman and dial-a-geek!

This man plays video games that play themselves, fixes my dad's computer, eats sushi with me 1200 times a week, sends me nice emails, plans for our future, holds my hand, is under the illusion that I have blonde 'moments' (more like decades), loves my family, downloads television shows, feeds me when I'm cranky, listens when I'm being unreasonable, books my car in for wheel alignments and above all, he makes me laugh.

I could go on and on and on and on, but for today, HE is what Im thankful for.
What are you thankful for?
Happy Monday

3 Things Im Thankful For.

I realised this week that I whinge too much. I don't always appreciate what I have like I should, I take life and love for granted. But lets face it, we all do.

So, to change this, I have added a new regular post (inspired by a beautiful email sent to me from the Boyf) '3 things Im thankful for'...

  1. I am thankful for my family. They are wonderfully supportive and encourage me to pursue all that life has to offer.
  2. I am thankful for those sticky velcro things that allow me to put up art and my framed travel photos on the wall with having to use a hammer. I am thankful that I have travel photos.
  3. I am thankful for my body type. Although I think it will be something that I battle with forever (as all women do), deep down, I love my curves and my womanliness.

What are you thankful for?
