Love one another and you will be happy. It’s as simple and as difficult as that – Michael Leunig

16 things about women!

1. Nothing says "I love you" like thoughtful, unsolicited little gifts on days that aren't "special"--anniversaries, birthdays, Christmas, Valentine's Day.

2. Our job is just as stressful/serious/significant as yours.

3. There is no such thing as too many shoes. Ditto to the perfect little black dress.

4. One lie spoils a thousand truths. Once discovered, it will be stored in long-term memory for later retrieval.

5. Sometimes the earth doesn't move. And no, you're not going to be able to tell when it doesn't.

6. A great haircut can give us a new lease on life. A bad one is not to be trivialized, minimized or joked about.

7. We are going to be upset with you and yes we are going to expect you to know exactly what we are thinking.

8. Women will always compare themselves to other women; ex-girlfriends, your female friends and especially your mother.

9. Some of us prefer boxing to yoga. None of us actually likes Pilate's.

10. We go to the bathroom together because we are talking about you. Simple as that.

11. Call us back right away. That 'three day' crap does not apply. We're getting older and we don't have time to screw around. Wait too long and we'll lose interest. Trust me on this one.

12. We'd much rather try on bras than see them on surgically altered, airbrushed supermodels, but we know how much you enjoy the lingerie catalog. Consider it a gift.

13. When we ask you what outfit we should wear- humor us with an answer. However, expect us to go with the one you didn't choose.

14. Supersecret: Unless we're blind or have no night-light in the bathroom, the whole toilet-seat thing is exaggerated and meant to control you.

15. Men who wear sunglasses at night don't look cool, rich or sexy. They look as though they should be following a dog or holding a cane.

16. We like flowers, we like jewelery, we like diamonds... big diamonds and to this day, I cannot figure out why!

17. And last but not least, we can tell a lot about a man from the shoes that he wears... choose carefully!

I love my Dad!

*Sitting on the couch with Dad, watching Origin*

Me-“So dad, who won last time.”

Dad-“Britt? Really? Queensland won; in fact they have won the last four years.”

Me- “Oh. Are they allowed to tackle like that?”

Dad-“yes.”

Me- “that, what about that? Oh so they are meant to get it over that line for a point?”

Dad-“ Yes, they have to get it over the try line; that’s what they call a try.”

Me-“And a try is a point?”

Dad-“No, three points makes a try”

Me-“Gee, that’s confusing. Why are their shorts so little, I mean really.”

Dad- “it’s just the way it’s always been… Britt, I love you and I appreciate this attempt to bond, but isn’t there a movie you would prefer to watch… in the other room?”

Sometimes, she thought, courage was simply a matter of putting one foot in front of another and not stopping. -Anita Shreve.

The Harry to my Charlotte.

No relationship is perfect, ever. There are always some ways you have to bend, to compromise, to give something up in order to gain something greater...The love we have for each other is bigger than these small differences. And that's the key. It's like a big pie chart, and the love in a relationship has to be the biggest piece. Love can make up for a lot.
Life isn't perfect, there are cracks in everything. At the end of the day, the only thing you can hope for is that through the cracks- you see a little sunshine. B x

Although you may drift in and out of fantasy land today, at least you can clearly tell the difference between your hopeful dreams and what is real. It's a gift to be able to paint your future in the colors you prefer, without confusing your fanciful illusions with the important issues you now face. Be thankful for your ability to escape, but don't forget to come back to earth and meet your obligations, for that's what will bring you true satisfaction.

Saturday night was my Dad's 54th birthday party. We had about 37 people, ranging in ages from 17 to 78years!!... it was a, for lack of a better word, HOOT!

There was sushi, champagne and cupcakes!
There was music, old friends and good family.
I played photographer!
I wore my fierce jumpsuit!!
I was the Dancing Queen

And most importantly, my Dad had a great time!

Today I am feeling discouraged and my heart is sore.
Sometimes I wish I were a little kid again, skinned knees are easier to fix than broken hearts.

made for each other.

Charlotte and Harry. I love this couple! These two remind me alot of myself and the Boyf. If ever two people were oh-so-perfect for each other, it's C&H (and yes, I know they aren't real, I choose to live in this fantasy world)

Harry: [talking about his mother's insistence that he marry a Jewish woman] Keeping tradition alive is very important to her. She lost family in the Holocaust.

Charlotte: [makes a face]

Harry: What?

Charlotte: Well, now I can't say anything because you've brought up... the Holocaust.

Yes, I am currently re-watching season 6, where they breakup, get engaged and live happily ever after. Its nice to get up on a Saturday morning, make yourself a coffee and escape reality for an hour or so.

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. ~Washington Irving

Tomato+Basil+Olive Oil Please

This was my breakfast this morning. No butter, no salt but very yummy!! It's part of my new eating habits... Ive noticed lately that I am always tired, have headaches, feel foggy and have trouble sleeping.

Yesterday I bought the book 'You Are What You Eat' and while reading it this morning, I was reading challenged to change my eating habits. The book promotes eating 'closer to the ground' and food that is in much more of a natural state. I don't think that my eating has ever been out of control, but just little things like sugar, caffeine and salt have a huge effect on the body. I think that Australia is becoming (and perhaps overtaking) America as far as our take out and coffee houses. So to sum it up, I will be cutting out or limiting- Anything white, caffeine, sugar sugar sugar, salt, dairy, preservatives, artificial sweeteners and red meats.
It sounds like a lot.. but when you think about it, it's just making a choice to make better choices.

I will let you know how I am feeling week by week!
