I love my Dad!
*Sitting on the couch with Dad, watching Origin*
Me-“So dad, who won last time.”
Dad-“Britt? Really? Queensland won; in fact they have won the last four years.”
Me- “Oh. Are they allowed to tackle like that?”
Dad-“yes.”
Me- “that, what about that? Oh so they are meant to get it over that line for a point?”
Dad-“ Yes, they have to get it over the try line; that’s what they call a try.”
Me-“And a try is a point?”
Dad-“No, three points makes a try”
Me-“Gee, that’s confusing. Why are their shorts so little, I mean really.”
Dad- “it’s just the way it’s always been… Britt, I love you and I appreciate this attempt to bond, but isn’t there a movie you would prefer to watch… in the other room?”
The Harry to my Charlotte.
No relationship is perfect, ever. There are always some ways you have to bend, to compromise, to give something up in order to gain something greater...The love we have for each other is bigger than these small differences. And that's the key. It's like a big pie chart, and the love in a relationship has to be the biggest piece. Love can make up for a lot.
Life isn't perfect, there are cracks in everything. At the end of the day, the only thing you can hope for is that through the cracks- you see a little sunshine. B x
There was sushi, champagne and cupcakes!
Saturday night was my Dad's 54th birthday party. We had about 37 people, ranging in ages from 17 to 78years!!... it was a, for lack of a better word, HOOT!
There was music, old friends and good family.
I played photographer!
I wore my fierce jumpsuit!!
I was the Dancing Queen
And most importantly, my Dad had a great time!
made for each other.
Harry: [talking about his mother's insistence that he marry a Jewish woman] Keeping tradition alive is very important to her. She lost family in the Holocaust.
10 things I learnt this week
Tomato+Basil+Olive Oil Please
This was my breakfast this morning. No butter, no salt but very yummy!! It's part of my new eating habits... Ive noticed lately that I am always tired, have headaches, feel foggy and have trouble sleeping.
Yesterday I bought the book 'You Are What You Eat' and while reading it this morning, I was reading challenged to change my eating habits. The book promotes eating 'closer to the ground' and food that is in much more of a natural state. I don't think that my eating has ever been out of control, but just little things like sugar, caffeine and salt have a huge effect on the body. I think that Australia is becoming (and perhaps overtaking) America as far as our take out and coffee houses. So to sum it up, I will be cutting out or limiting- Anything white, caffeine, sugar sugar sugar, salt, dairy, preservatives, artificial sweeteners and red meats.
It sounds like a lot.. but when you think about it, it's just making a choice to make better choices.
I will let you know how I am feeling week by week!
